Points on how to Evaluate Anti-Catholic Historical Sources. Hatred Points to Catholicism's Validity It points toward the validity of the Catholic Church as being the Church that was founded by Christ. Facts: 1. I, along with all other Catholics, offer my sincere apology to all those who have been hurt by other Catholics. The Pope also implied this when he said that the sins of some Catholics fills us with sadness and shame. 2. Examine the Church by those who live up to her teachings, not by those Judas Priests who act contrary to her teachings. Just because there have been Judas Priests from the beginning does not invalidate Christ's Church. The Church teaches that the marital act, sex as the world calls it, is holy and only for a man and woman married to each other. [ I don't mean to offend so many of you, but the Church does call people to a higher standard - and this is one reason why she is hated so much.] 3. The Pope called everyone to follow Christ and to persevere in hope. Hope in Christ. Hope in Christ's goodness to work the lives of others. Hope for Christ's goodness to work in ourselves. 4. Our world badly needs the message above. 5. Yes we are all sinners, and some Catholics have done some awful things. 5. Christ was falsely accused and so is His Church. They said that He was doing the devils work, and predicted that His Church would be treated the same way. So, we should expect Christ's Church to be treated the same way that the Catholic Church is treated on this list.
Question: Does the world need to focus on hatred, accusations, sins, fear, Satan OR should our primary focus be on Jesus Christ, repentance, healing, mercy forgiveness, courage, virtue, holiness, love and truth ? What is the source focused on ? |
